Abstract

The use of new technologies must be recognized as a strategic measure in the design of educational policies within higher education institutions. The digital transformation process in universities represents a challenge, particularly for teachers, who are directly responsible for implementing the required actions to achieve it. The continuing improvement of medical education professionals is becoming increasingly important as pedagogical approaches evolve, and consequently, so does the Teaching-Learning Process. Educators must be equipped with a repertoire of suitable competencies and knowledge, as well as access to technological tools, to deliver engaging, high-quality instruction. Advancements in new educational modalities will be far greater with a teaching staff experienced and trained in virtual environments.
