Presentación de paciente lactante con atresia de vías biliares extrahepáticas

Abstract

Se presenta el caso de una lactante de seis meses de edad, raza negra que fallece con un cuadro de insuficiencia hepática y que debutó con un íctero prolongado en sus primeros días de vida, como consecuencia de una atresia de los conductos biliares extrahepáticos. Esta patología generalmente resulta de una anomalía en el desarrollo en las primeras etapas de la vida fetal, también se puede adquirir en el curso de una hepatitis neonatal. En esta paciente no se pudo determinar la causa que la originó. Por la gravedad de su evolución y lo importante que resulta el rápido diagnóstico se decide presentar este caso.
