Abstract

Notable médico bacteriólogo, formador de generaciones de microbiólogos cubanos. Nació en la barriada de El Cerro, La Habana, el 9 de enero de 1915, hijo de Manuel Palacín y Josefina Aranda. Recibió la enseñanza primaria en colegio de El Cerro. Se graduó de Bachiller en Letras y Ciencias (1934) en el Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza de La Habana. En la Universidad de la propia ciudad cursó los estudios superiores y recibió el título de Doctor en Medicina (1943). Se formó como bacteriólogo, desde sus días de estudiante, junto a los profesores Reinaldo Márquez Camacho y Arturo Curbelo Hernández.
