Abstract

Notable médico salubrista y malariólogo cubano. Nació en Madruga, provincia Habana, el 7 de octubre de 1923, hijo de Nazario Tejeiro y María Luisa Fernández. Recibió la enseñanza primaria en colegios públicos de Melena del Sur, en su provincia natal. Se graduó de Bachiller en Letras y Ciencias (1941) en el Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza de Güines, de igual provincia. En la Universidad de La Habana obtuvo el título de Doctor en Medicina (1948) con su tesis "Estudio estadístico de la presión arterial promedio en Cuba". Por concurso fue alumno interno de casas de socorro.
