Abstract

El interés en la utilización de la sangre humana como terapéutica para el hombre se remonta a épocas tan lejanas como la antigüedad, ya desde el imperio romano se recomendaba la ingestión oral de la sangre para el tratamiento de algunas enfermedades tales como la epilepsia, además se indicaban baños de sangre y complicados emplastos. Esta etapa se le denominó hemoterapia empírica y llegó hasta el siglo XVI
