Revolutionary career of Aleida Fernández Chardiet

In Cuba, the History subject programs establish the study of different historical personalities, especially those of national relevance, but it is important to rescue local history, which motivates us to characterize the revolutionary trajectory of the medical student of Aleida Fernández Chardiet, a native personality of the Güines municipality, in the province of Mayabeque. Despite coming from a family of renown and prestige, Aleida was a humble and very simple person, who made no distinction between human beings based on their economic or social positions; bright young woman, her biggest dream was to be a doctor. At the University she joined student life and young people from the capital's revolutionary movement, so she was forced to abandon her studies. Her revolutionary actions contributed to demonstrating the dictatorship's puppet position, which is why she was murdered. The Güines Teaching-Clinical-Surgical Hospital is named after to honor her.
